Precious Moments (december)

This month has passed much too quickly; but I am so very thankful for the time I was able to spend with my family...between school and work it's hard to have time off to be able to travel and visit. My Christmas was wonderful in that I was able to spend it with the people I love most and had enough down time to read again. Now that the new year is quickly approaching I have big plans coming and I can't wait to get started (I'll post about them when the time comes). I could not be more excited to enter a new year. This past one has brought me many blessings and I know it's just a build up for the exciting things that will be coming up! I can't wait ^.^

What does the fox say?

As I am a lover of the forest, I am also an admirer of the creatures that lurk there...deer, bunnies, owls, and of course foxes! As soon as I laid eyes on this dress I was smitten, the bold pattern/colors and t-shirt shape make this dress perfect in my eyes. And so I put it on my Christmas list and lucky me, I got it! It's so unbelievably comfortable, I will definitely be wearing it often ^.^

Merry Christmas!

Well, it's christmas eve, and I just wanted to wish everyone a merry christmas! I'm at home right now and loving every second of it. I know a lot of people let the stress of the holidays get to them but I firmly never let myself get to that point and don't believe anyone else should either. As long as family and loved ones are together, we should all let the excess stress wash away. Seeing everyone, having dinner together is really the greatest thing. Especially once everyone is grown and has left the house and it becomes hard to have family gatherings. The food, the lights, the conversation and laughs, it's truly a magical time of year and I hope you are all enjoying it as much as I am. Happy Holidays x

Tis the season

4 days until christmas! I'm so excited; I'm having a chrsitmas dinner tonight before I travel back home. Anyway, I opened another early \christmas gift (although now it's wrapped up again and I won't see it until Christmas morning): this dress ^.^ I have been lusting after this dress for quite sometime and I'm actually pretty happy it ended up being a gift. It will be a lovely Christmas dress, and potentially new years dress as well.
I will try to post as much as possible in the next few days, I love sharing details about the holidays ^.^

Sneak a Peak

This post is somewhat long because I'm killing two birds with one stone here. I'd been wanting to do a bit of a room tour as well as some Christmas dress posts and so I've done the both ^.^ I admit my room is somewhat of a mess, which would be why it's not shown as a whole; but I managed to get the general feel I think.
This dress is one of my favorite dresses; I wish I'd had more opportunities to wear it. I bought it last year from Urban Outfitters; obviously it isn't available anymore but here are some that are similar:
Anyway, most of my upcoming posts will be holiday themed; I'm trying to distract myself until Sunday when I finally get to travel home. I hope your holidays are special ^.^

Early gifts

Well it's Monday and I am so excited to be starting a new week considering how crazy busy last week was. One good (maybe a little bad) thing about last week, however, was that Gavin and I sort of gave in and handed each other a few early Christmas presents. I am absolutely in love with these items; especially the hat, it's my dream hat and from forever21. These were taken after I wrote my final exam and explored the trails behind campus one last time as I won't be returning for almost a month. By the end of the week I will be in my home town and I'm so excited! My presents are wrapped and I am pretty much ready to go. All that's left to do is work a couple of shifts and pack a suitcase ^.^

christmas time wardrobe

It's that busy time of year again; the time of year that is of course so wonderful but can sometimes be very hectic due to traveling, last-minute shopping/decision making. I personally spend half of my holidays traveling...I begin by leaving my own home to then travel to my home town; Christmas afternoon I travel to my father's and on boxing day we travel to my grandmothers, before traveling back to my dads and then home again later on. Of course, gift giving is happening throughout all of this and it's difficult to pack light knowing you will have acquired other things throughout these visits. I personally separate my wardrobe into two categories when it comes to packing for Christmas: Cozy and comfortable // Pretty and fancy.

I think a good metallic or sequined dress is always called for on the holidays for special gatherings or holiday parties. This one from romwe I am particularly drawn to; I love the simple shape mixed with light gold sequins. On the other hand; the holidays can bring a lot of down time or adventuring with family and friends, for which warmer clothes are needed. Cozy socks and sweaters are most definitely needed during these times. Not to mention the fact that holiday sweaters are everywhere now so there's no reason we can't be warm and still be festive!
In terms of the in-between times; such as visiting family and friends, I would definitely have some more casual but cute items packed as well.

For this I would pack a lot of dresses, a plaid skirt that is able to mix and match with a lot of simple tops; in order to keep your suitcase light. These are all fairly casual while still having a bit of a festive touch. Now that my packing is put into perspective and basically planned, I am so excited to begin my travels and thus the holidays. 11 days until Christmas guys!
