winter wonderland

I woke up this morning with the very best suprise...Our first snow fall! It's literally been snowing all day, and it's still going. The first snow falls are the best...mild weather, fluffy white snow everywhere, everything looks fresh and enchanting. Although I love darker tones in the winter, I tend to gravitate towards pastels when the snow first makes its arrival. This stunning Free People dress from Shopbop arrived this morning as well...I swear the snow was waiting for it, knowing how perfectly matched the two are. The intricate detail on this dress is breath-taking, I've never seen anything like it and it's quite possible the most beautiful dress I own. I paired it with THIS great hat also from Shopbop which was definitely useful in keeping the snowflakes from wetting my hair or falling too heavily on my face. My dream outfit would be to wear some cozy beige gloves, a nice pale furry coat and some smart and chunky oxfords...all of these beauties are available at ShopBop so go check them out...and have fun in the snow (if you have any)

What a lovely winter we are having this spring...

These were taken the day before the first day of spring. (please take note of the snow up to my hips -.-) In fact, since this day, we've been having pretty steady snow fall and cold weather. I'm doing my best to stay positive and remind myself that warm weather is coming! In the meantime, I am going to take full advantage of my new favorite cardigan! It's not the thickest or warmest but it's definitely comfortable and adorable! I love the fringe and heathered gray color, it matches a good deal of my wardrobe, which is helpful! Anyway, I've been busy packing and working and finishing school, only one month left until I'm done with all of those. I'm beyond excited ^.^ I hope your week is going well so far!

the curtain dress

We're nearing the end of Febuary and the weather is getting considerably warmer; much to my liking. On the day these were taken, I really did not need a coat at all, it was so wonderfully mild out. This dress is thick enough too as not to leave me too chilly. I love the unique pattern of this dress...it reminds me of a theater curtain, which is why I wore it to a play Gavin and I went to see the same day. It was a pretty great day!  I am currently on the first day of my reading week and am looking forward to some much needed relaxation. Hopefully a few exciting adventures will present itself this week as well ^.^

ekimo panda

The snow has come back with a vengeance. There is constant white fluff falling from the sky, and it's really beautiful. After classes one day, my sister and I went back to the trails behind our campus and explore while the snow continued to fall heavily upon us. This hat from Urban Outfitters had  kept me warm and kept my ears covered nicely. And so I'm happy to say that it is practical and adorable :) I get smiles and compliments every time I wear it ^.^ It's adorable!

we are alive, we will survive this

We were hit with a huge snow storm last night, which is normal for this time of year, but none the less, snow banks are up to my knees and I can only walk where the plows have gone. Obviously I would never be walking without a coat, hat, etc. I shed them quickly to snap a few photos of whatever I'm wearing on that day. Photos of the few coats I have will get boring very quickly and so I will have to suffer through a few minutes of being cold in order to keep this blog  interesting. My second semester has already begun, and I'm a little sad that my hibernating days are over and I have to leave my house every day again...on the other hand, I'm excited to finish everything and start a new adventure! Anyway, I've had these items in my closet for a long time and never seem to tire of them. I own way too many lace white/cream dresses but never seem to stop myself from buying them when I see a new one, no matter how many I've collected.
I hope you all have a beautiful week ^.^ stay warm x

best cardigan award

I'm so thankful I was able to capture these photos BEFORE the freezing -35 weather we're experiencing now. It's a shame because this is when I begin to crave spring and I need to suffer through 4 months of snow still :( Ah well, with work, school and everything else, I will hopefully be busy enough for time to fly by. Anyway, all I've been doing this past week is relaxing, cuddling up in cozy sweaters and hot drinks, spending time with Gavin and working on my art. This is the perfect way for me to end my holidays before I enter my final semester at school. I feel focused and rested (which doesn't happen often); and although I become restless in the winter months; cute, comfy sweaters like this one certainly help ;)
