Hey guys! I've recently been given the opportunity to help run the Northgate instagram account to hlep connect and showcase the goods you can find in the Shopping center, whether it's gift ideas, life's seasonal necessities (it is Canada) or a reason to treat yourself, I'm hoping to help be a guide and maybe even a source of inspiration for anyone who enjoys my style of photography and personal style. So if you're interested in following or supporting me in this new venture, don't be afraid to follow the ACCOUNT

autumn colors
The revival of my love for fashion and self expression through clothing always comes out during my favorite season. I love everything about autumn, the cool air, the dancing colors, the hot drinks and morning frost...I love layering earth tones in my wardrobe and it's the perfect season for all of these things! It's still a little too warm most days, but my seasonal clock is always ahead of mother nature and so I choose to dress for my mood. I love the way this jacket from zara
brings a fall vibe to my entire wardrobe, and I plan on wearing this cozy baggy sweater from frontrowshop all season long. Being a mom has shifted my style to something more practical and comfortable, though some things will never change (like my love for hats and earth colors!) These are two pieces I plan on keeping for as long as they last me.

S T Y L E W E | OVERALLS
Over six months ago I had brought an end to the style section of this blog for a couple of reasons.
1. I was a new mom who could not master blog posts on timelines when working with shops.
2. I was a new mom struggling with self esteem and hated every photo of myself.
3. I became so annoyed with consumerism in our culture and didn't want to add to it anymore.
So now I'm back with the very first style post in a while because
1. Mixing style and photography is one of my favorite blends of personal passion and I missed creating looks and images that express an idea/feeling or tell a story.
2. I'm tired of being mean to myself and am working hard to gain some self love and esteem.
3. I realized that style blogging doesn't have to evolve around tricking people into buying more like EVERY SINGLE THING ON OUR PLANET BASICALLY DOES. I could, instead, focus and work solely with designers and brands who are genuine and whom I genuinely admire and wish to support. There are so many amazing artists whose designs the world should see, and I want to help!
Now, back to the look...
stylewe is an online store which carries a variety of different brands and designers that are so very wonderful! I had such a difficult time choosing between the different pieces and collections, the clothes they carry are beautiful and it has definitely become a new go-to site for shopping unique and beautiful pieces.
The designer I really fell in love with was Salma Wang, who creates clothing suited toward women in the arts, including these overalls in her collection Zijue. The collection is a combination of unique cuts, beautiful fabrics with a minimalist feel. I love that she designs comfortable yet graceful clothing for women who work in art and music and design. These overalls are the most comfortable thing I own hands down, which is why I wore them to run errands in these photos. I've also already decided that they will now become my painting pants :) I am so excited to explore more of Salma Wang's collection and to discover the other great brands that STYLEWE carries.

Yoyomelody
Though I've taken a step back from working as a brand rep, there are still some that I will be reviewing from time to time (pieces and stores that are of good quality and that I believe in!) I recently recieved this thick, long comfortable blouse from YOYOMELODY and was instantly smitten. I love the thick, soft quality of the blouse...in trying to build a more purposeful closet, this is the perfect building block. Because of the color and simple style, it goes with just about anything in my closet and will last me years. These are the types of pieces I feel confident in promoting and sharing with you all. So please do take a look at thier webiste, they have alot to offer!

A New Direction
This is the first new year which brought time for reflection for me. I've been away from social media (save for posting a few photos of Forest from the holidays) and spending most of my time, with my baby of course, but every few seconds of free time at a moment has been dedicated to my writing. Since I was in the seventh grade and first fell in love with literature, I wanted to be a writer. My plan since then for school and such was always just to have a job that could sustain me while I write until it would become a full time job. So I went to school and graduated, then life happened, and this blog happened and suddenly I'd went years without focusing on my writing, and completely hadn't even noticed. It's been taking alot of courage to share my writing, as it has always been something I did privately. But there has been a recent shift in me, and I feel thousands of stories being whispered to me every minute and I need to let them out. So this post is basically a fair warning that my blogging on this site will be significantly less often and I may stop working as a brand rep altogether. For now, I'm trying to juggle mothering, working with a handful of amazing shops as a brand rep (I will continue the parterships I have already made and cease to work with new companies for now), and writing. If you're interested, you can follow my writing blog HERE. So far I have only published a short story for the book I'm working on, but I will be working on adding as much content as possible in the coming weeks. So here's to another year, a better year and following our dreams!

A Very Green Winter
We had our very first Green Christmas this year, which was a little disapointing, however, my closet was certainly happy. Prolonged layer weather means less time bundled up under a stuffy coat and more time to play around with different pieces! I love how well this slip from UO and dress by Free People work together! "Layer Weather" suits my style and creativity most because it allows for
the most options! Getting creative while keeping warm makes getting
dressed fun and gives my wardrobe more use than any other time of year. I
always start with basics: tights with socks and boots. Then I begin
layering, for example here I have an eyelash lace slip from Urban Outfitters
underneath a floral dress by Free People. To keep the wind at bay, I
added mix-matched plaid with this red plaid jacket and plaid infitity
scarf and a hat for good measure! Layering allows for the mixing of
different patterns and textures that make for more lively outfits !

Light snow & 90's florals
There's something about this floral maxi from DressLink that I find irresistable. Perhaps it is the way it is reminiscent of my parent's old wallpaper from the 90's? Regardless, it was a welcome piece in my closet and I look forward to seeing the many different ways it can be styled with passing seasons! We are finally getting snow, though the air remains mild enough for sweater weather and minimal to no layers. This is my favourite winter weather!

Sunny Haze
I've recently been working with a really great shop called DEALSALE and aquiring some beautiful neutral peices for my closet such as this beautiful bohemian dress. This dress is extremely comfortable (basically like wearing an oversized t-shirt) with loose sleeves and a lace bottom, it has become one of my go-to pieces. As a mom, it's also easy to nurse in (trust me, it matters), which is a top priority for my clothing these days. I love the neutral tones and how well they play with this Forest green cardigan and the soft glow of the sun hitting the flowers. Coupon and Shop Links bellow:

FINDS: Sammy Dress
My style posts have been put on the back burner lately as raising a little one has undoubtedly taken over (it has also limited my style posts in the sense that I basically wear things that are easy to nurse in, haha) However, I still, every so often come accross new shops which both suit my style and budget that I'd like to share with you. This month's find is: SAMMY DRESS
Here are a few of my favourite items with the direct links bellow each photo:
The site has a wide variety of items that makes it easy for the average shopper to find something they like for a good price! I mentioned narrowing down my closet before and replacing items that no longer suit me with more minimalistic/neutral pieces, and these work wonderfully! I have a feeling I will be doing alot of shopping here in the future!
