summer lovin'

I've been a real busy bee lately, I'm working and exploring and unfortunately haven't been bringing my camera out and about as much as I should/would like, at least for the sake of keeping up with these posts, even as it begins to get busy! 

Well, I had today off, so I went to one of my favorite places, and to my surprise, flowers have sprouted. The quality of these photos do not do this place justice, it's truly breath-taking. 

It's also been extremely hot out, and the only thing I can seem to wear are tank-top dresses. Unfortunately I don't own very many, and I am 99% positive I will need more to survive this summer ;)

Lucky for me I have this adorable dress in the mean time. Anything light and airy on those hot days is good enough for me (plus you can't beat this cute pattern).

Lace & Blooms

 

 I recently received this gorgeous dress from frontrowshop and immediately fell in love! It's a lace t-shirt dress with a detached slip underneath, comfortable and airy enough to wear throughout the summer. I have an unhealthy obsession with anything white and lacy, so this is basically my dream dress. This is my first time discovering this shop and I'm really glad I did. They carry a variety and unique feminine and edgy pieces, with enough diversity to fit into any closet. I strongly recommend checking them out, especially now that its time to upgrade our closet and ready for summer ;)

These days I pair almost everything with a flower crown, it's pretty clear that I'm a little flower obsessed. But the city is filled with beautiful colorful blooms and I've fallen even more in love with Ottawa, seeing it come to life with color and sunshine this spring has me completely smitten.

once upon a dream

One of my absolute favourite parts of spring is definitely all the beautiful blooms that seem to come out of nowhere! If you follow my instagram then you know how obsessed I am, it's all I seem to post! I wanted to take advantage of them before they disappeared (too quickly). This tree is probably one of the prettiest I've ever seen, so lush and violet, I could lay under it forever. I'm also wearing some embroidered blooms on my shit which somewhat matches my environment ^.^

She belongs among the wild flowers

This day was a very special day to me. Nothing AMAZING happened, it was just one of those days in which you can feel the magic in the air. And there was. Gavin and I decided to go exploring to see if we could find a place suitable for swimming in the summer. For the past two years we lived in a small city a block away from the beach and board-walk, so thinking about a summer without swimming just does not make any sense to us. We walked through fields at first, before coming across an aviation area. We saw multiple planes, all sorts, fly directly above us...so close you swear you could touch them if you could reach far enough. It was a really cool experience. We will be returning. Afterward, we found ourselves is some country land, following trails of wild flowers and picking some on the way. And just as I thought to myself ¨what a beautiful day!¨ two little deer fro-lock right passed us and I eventually took a few shots of them that I will be posting later on.

SO. This dress. Let me tell you about this dress and how it should NOT be mine. I was over at my sisters, and she was showing me some cute thrift finds for her and her little ones. This dress comes out as a dress that would fit my niece in a couple of years as it is fit for a 7 year old and rayne is only 3. So, I tried it on, adjusted the straps and voila. I have a very cute new dress :)

Adventure Time

This week has been pretty great, I found a job, I've been offered the chance to work with a lot of great shops that I can't wait to post about, and just generally have been having really great days. The weather might have something to do with it though; the sunshine and warm weather is so encouraging! When I wake up to sunshine I can't wait to throw on a cute outfit and go exploring somewhere! Especially now that the leaves and blooms are all coming in, it makes the scenery so beautiful. 

This outfit is basically a "keep cool whilst adventuring" outfit, cut-offs and a crop top with a kimono in case of wind. I've been collecting kimono's over the last couple of years and haven't really worn them all that much, but it will be my mission to get my wears out of them this summer!
