Dressing the bump

When I first discovered I was pregnant, I had no idea how this would affect my personal style and blog...This is my first pregnancy, and so I really had no idea what I was in store for. I am happy to admit that so far I've been plesantly surprised not only in how easy it has been for me to progress into clothes that better fit/suit my growing belly, but also at how much fun it really is! Yes, growing weekly has presented the obvious challenges of figuring out sizes as I go along, as well as silhouette's that flatter my ever changing body, but it's those challenges which I find I'm loving. I'm trying new things/styles I might otherwise not have thought to try, and am in love with how my personal style is evolving with the growing of my belly. You've all probably noticed a new love for maxi skirts and dresses, like this gorgeous dress from nastydress.com . This dress is unbelievably comfortable as well as dazzling! It can easily be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. I wore it to celebrate Thursday's full moon, under the open sky, on a frozen lake...so far it's been great for adventures, and I definitely plan on wearing it on more fanciful occasions this summer such as weddings or galas.
Ultimately, pregnancy style can be anything you want it to be. You don't need to limit yourself to the "maternity" sections of stores...in fact, I have yet to purchase an actual maternity item. So far I've gotten by on ordering a size or two above my usual, considering what will be comfortable on my belly as well as make me feel great (because let's face it, pregnancy isn't always sunshine and rainows...it's nice to feel beautiful and confident whenever possible). So my advice to any newly pregnant women is: have fun with your changing body! Buy things that not only fit, but things that make you feel beautiful and inspired ^.^
