Sunny Haze

I've recently been working with a really great shop called DEALSALE and aquiring some beautiful neutral peices for my closet such as this beautiful bohemian dress. This dress is extremely comfortable (basically like wearing an oversized t-shirt) with loose sleeves and a lace bottom, it has become one of my go-to pieces. As a mom, it's also easy to nurse in (trust me, it matters), which is a top priority for my clothing these days. I love the neutral tones and how well they play with this Forest green cardigan and the soft glow of the sun hitting the flowers. Coupon and Shop Links bellow:

FINDS: Sammy Dress

My style posts have been put on the back burner lately as raising a little one has undoubtedly taken over (it has also limited my style posts in the sense that I basically wear things that are easy to nurse in, haha) However, I still, every so often come accross new shops which both suit my style and budget that I'd like to share with you. This month's find is: SAMMY DRESS

Here are a few of my favourite items with the direct links bellow each photo:

The site has a wide variety of items that makes it easy for the average shopper to find something they like for a good price! I mentioned narrowing down my closet before and replacing items that no longer suit me with more minimalistic/neutral pieces, and these work wonderfully! I have a feeling I will be doing alot of shopping here in the future!

Here's to you

Here's to one year of marriage with you!
_
_

You and I have never been ordinary my love. We have never loved conventionally and nor will we start. Since we met I loved you fiercely and have been relentless since. Being in the same room, I was drawn to you like a magnet...fingers grasping to reach any part of you and you answered with the same beautiful vulnerability. We knew at once this love was once in a lifetime, that we were lucky...soulmates. Our fire burned so bright that for a time I was worried something this powerful and beautiful could not last...how could it? Surely something this bright would burn out?
Instead though, six months later we left the theater to walk in the most beautiful garden I've ever seen; and as the rain made its slow and soft descent from the sky, you took my hand and gave me a ring. You told me we would be together for all of time and I knew you were right.
We had something, from the beggining.
We knew it, and so did everyone else.
You can never know what joy it brings me to know I found you my love, and so soon.
And so here we are, married for a year, a baby on my hip and a love greater than life itself.
I like to think of us in passing seasons. In the winter, when we fell in love...walking at night, our breath like smoke in the frigid air. Cold noses, warm kisses, skin wrapped together under layers of wools and knits, creating our own world of magic.
In the spring, new begginings...moving i together one year, moving to the city the next. Adventuring about. Visiting museums and exploring new things...your arms wrapped tightly around me, your kisses like warm rain drops on my face.
Summer. You, me, early morning fog and a dog. The smell of your skin in the sun, bike riding and movie-seeing, making plans and making magic.
Autumn. Cool air and and crisp leaves bellow our feet. Hiking; you, shaking trees and me, watching in awe as they danced thier way around your body like they were lovers teasing one another with thier soulful movement.
I like to think of us during changes...change of seasons, change of cities and jobs and wonder how our love has remained unwavering through it all.
You have given me the family of my dreams, the life of my dreams. Because of you and our son, I have everything...a full heart, a peaceful mind and spirit.
I love you endlessly.

Forest: 3 months till 4 months old

MILESTONES:
* rolls over from front to back and back to front
*mimics certain sounds (screeching, caughing, mum, and mmmmmm)
*can pull himself forwards short distances during tummy time
*very interactive with people and objects

Things that make him smile:
*Kisses always (especially on his feet now that he's discovered them)
*reading, signing, dancing
*Nursing
*when I go "mmmmmmmm" to him
*when mom and dad laugh or kiss
*When we read to him
*Music(especially fleet foxes and hotline bling haha)

Dislikes:
*car seat
*bottle (still won't take it)
*Snow flakes on his face

His eyes: still that baby blue
Hair: Golden Brown, his eyebrows are more noticeable and he has his dad's thick beautiful lashes!
15.6 pounds and wonderfully healthy

Forest's personality comes out more and more each day. He is so sweet and loving, has a great sense of humor (loves to laugh and play). He's a little more selective of people, but generally loves everyone and smiles constantly! He loves moving around and seeing how loud his voice can go! Obviously still teething, hit a pretty rough patch but he's been feeling much better and sleeping wonderfully. He still wakes up twice at night to eat, sometimes more, and is usually awake between 6-7 to start his day and in bed between 8-9 at night. My favorite things right now are his "quiet conversations". Usually in the morning or after naps, we lay together and his little hands will reach for my face and I'll speak softly to him and he coos softly back. It's the sweetest. He's also ticklish on his feet and sides! I try so hard to soak up each moment with him in every stage, as he is changing so fast! I'm so thankful to live at a time where everything is so easily captured and documented!

To be a Mother

It's your skin, once thick and strong is now stretched thinly over your bones like a balloon with too much air.
It's briddle bones begging for rest but pushing on inspite of the pain.
It's Trembling hands, muscles shaking;
bending, breaking.
It's a wieght that is heavy but it holds you together somehow.
It's the glue which grabs hold of each atom, every particle that is you, and binds you until you are not only full and complete, but overflowing with warmth, light and love.
It's waking to wonder and adventure every morning.
It's the feeling you get when something moves you to your core,
that all you can do is cry.
It's beholding a beauty so pure that you cannot imitate it...not with words, not with paint, not even with a song.
It stretches your skin thin so that you may shed it to make way for new layering...
peeling away the thick coats of greed, selfishness...the unseemliness inside of us to make way for skin that glows like fireflies in the black night.
Skin made to comfort, heal and nourish.
It's steadfast devotion, infinite enchantment and bewildering moments in time...
Sleepy sweetness, slow living and constant reminiscing of this singular remarkable existence.
This is what it is to be a mother.
